Craig Pierson
Managing Director
(BCom in Marketing and Computer Science)
Craig joined Piersons in 1983 as Administration Clerk. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) at the University of Canterbury in 1986 majoring in marketing and computer science. In 1985 he was promoted to Cool-Store Manager, then, in 1990 when his father (and founder of Piersons) Norm retired, Craig was appointed to Marketing Manager and then to Managing Director in 1993.
Craig is also responsible for sales and quoting at Piersons. He has considerable experience with computers, software usage, energy management and computer programme design which has enabled him to develop systems at Piersons that have enriched the productivity and success of the business.
Matt Thomas
Director/Mechanical Engineer
(Advanced Diploma of Mechanical Engineering, Trade Certificate Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Advanced Trade Certificate Building Control Systems)
Matt joined Piersons in late 2017 and became business partners with Craig in August 2018. He has brought considerable talent and initiative to the team seen in his ability to skillfully manage the sales, design, and scoping side of many of our large commercial projects.
Matt has the benefit of having completed his apprenticeship prior to pursuing Mechanical Engineering. This has given him a great advantage when it comes to design work, engineering problem solving and project management.
Prior to Piersons, Matt spent 8 years in Australia, predominantly working with high-rise commercial buildings and large-scale mechanical installations.
